Inmarsat Maritime announced that its NexusWave connectivity service has received Cyber Security Type Approval from Bureau Veritas. This certification signifies that the service meets stringent cyber security standards for maritime operations.
The approval process involved an assessment of NexusWave against the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) Unified Requirement E27 (UR E27). This requirement outlines essential cyber security measures for maritime systems.
According to Container News, Bureau Veritas conducted a thorough review of the security architecture underpinning the NexusWave service. This evaluation ensures the system's resilience against potential cyber threats.
This latest approval from Bureau Veritas follows a similar certification obtained earlier in the year from ClassNK. Both approvals underscore Inmarsat's commitment to robust cyber security in its maritime offerings.
