Georgia's ports contribute significantly to the state's economy, supporting 605,616 full and part-time jobs across various businesses, Container News reported. This employment figure translates into an annual income of US$44 billion for the state.

The latest study, conducted by the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, highlights the extensive reach of the ports' operations. The findings underscore their role as a major economic engine within Georgia.

According to Container News, the total economic impact of the ports saw a notable increase. In fiscal year 2025, the impact grew by 4%, or US$7 billion, when compared to the previous year's figures.
