Korean Air is reportedly preparing to implement a new cargo strategy following its integration with Asiana Airlines, according to The Loadstar. The airline anticipates completing the merger on December 17.
The new strategy will reportedly center on leveraging an expanded passenger network. This larger network is expected to provide additional belly capacity for cargo operations, The Loadstar reported.
Furthermore, the airline plans to upgrade its handling infrastructure. This enhancement aims to support the increased cargo volumes and operational efficiency post-merger.
The Loadstar indicated that Korean Air's large-freighter network will continue to manage heavier and more specialized cargo. This suggests a dual approach to cargo handling.
The airline also foresees a growing transpacific movement of technology and data-center equipment. This trend is a key factor influencing its new cargo operational plans, The Loadstar noted.
