La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT), which is part of Italy’s Contship Group, has reportedly signed contracts for new equipment. The agreements are valued at €90 million, according to World Cargo News.
The new equipment is intended for LSCT's planned Ravano Terminal. This investment signifies a major step in the terminal's expansion efforts, as reported by the source publication.
The deal includes the acquisition of four ship-to-shore (STS) cranes. These cranes are crucial for handling containers directly between vessels and the quayside.
Additionally, the contracts cover 18 yard cranes. This total comprises both rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes and rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes, which are essential for efficient container movement within the terminal yard.
