Alkagesta has been approved to participate in the S&P Global Commodity Insights Market on Close assessment process for physical naphtha in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a step that places the trader inside one of the most closely watched price discovery windows in refined products.

Participation in the MOC process means bids and offers submitted by the company can be reflected in the daily benchmark assessments used to settle physical cargoes and index-linked term contracts across the region. Approval follows a credit and performance review that counterparties must clear before they can transact in the window.

For a mid-sized independent, MOC access is as much a credibility signal as a trading tool. It exposes the company to peer scrutiny on every quote, but it also widens the pool of counterparties willing to deal, since positions struck in the window carry a transparent, auditable price reference.

Naphtha sits at the crossroads of petrochemical feedstock demand and gasoline blending, and the EMEA window has become more volatile as arbitrage flows to Asia shift with freight economics. Traders with a seat in the process gain earlier visibility on where physical differentials are clearing.

The move extends a broader push by the company into benchmark-linked products, alongside its existing fuel oil, gasoil and carbon activity.
