Brazilian pulp producer Suzano is reportedly preparing to acquire a 10% stake in Hanseatic Global Terminals Aracruz, according to Container News. This company is currently developing a new container terminal at the Port of Aracruz in Brazil.
The planned container terminal facility is designed to have a substantial annual capacity. Upon completion, it is expected to handle 1.2 million TEU per year, significantly boosting the port's capabilities.
The acquisition by Suzano indicates a strategic interest in the logistics infrastructure supporting its operations. The investment aligns with the company's broader business objectives within the region.
Container News reported that the stake acquisition is linked to specific land holdings. This suggests a connection between the terminal development and the operational needs of the pulp producer.
