Commodity and energy trading company Alkagesta took part in African Energy Week 2026, held in Cape Town between 12 and 16 October 2026. According to the company, representative Rustam Mirzoev attended the five-day gathering. The conference functioned as an international platform bringing together public and private sector policymakers, energy executives, and global investors across upstream, midstream, downstream, renewable energy, and broader energy services sectors.
The conference focused on placing the African continent at the center of international energy discussions amid shifting geopolitical dynamics. Program sessions examined the capital requirements facing regional energy markets and analyzed methods for moving projects from initial planning to practical delivery across the power, hydrocarbon, and renewable energy segments, according to event details reported by the company.
Program discussions also addressed broader energy security concerns and Africa's emerging position as a strategic hydrocarbon growth hub. Delegates reviewed the financing landscape for developing renewable power, the revitalization of existing onshore and brownfield assets, and the exploration of frontier basins. In addition, dedicated investment sessions spotlighted upstream and production cycles in Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, and Equatorial Guinea.
Alkagesta highlighted that the Cape Town event provided an opportunity to build ties with investors and regional policymakers as it expands its operations. The company stated that it maintains an active commercial footprint across African energy and commodity markets, focusing particularly on the supply of petroleum products and fertilizers to clients located throughout West and East Africa.
